Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified Religious Studies Teacher (QTS) for an immediate start at a secondary school in the Portsmouth area. The full-time role runs initially for six weeks with potential extension, covering KS3 and KS4 with planning, marking and assessment responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, possess strong RS knowledge, and have experience in a secondary setting, with excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting desirable.
• Confident in planning and delivering high-quality lessons.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to supporting student achievement and progress.
• Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs.

Responsibilities

• Teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Take full responsibility for planning, marking, and assessment.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement.
• Contribute to departmental planning and school life where required.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently.
