Job summary

Classroom Talent is working with a high-achieving secondary school in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, seeking a Religious Studies Teacher to start ASAP. This is a full-time long-term supply role from ASAP to Christmas 2026, with a pathway to a fixed-term contract January–July 2027.

Teaching across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 possible depending on experience. The successful candidate will need UK QTS/QTLS and can be an ECT.

Qualifications

• Must have UK QTS or QTLS, or be in the process of gaining QTS.
• Able to teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4.
• Confident delivering the Religious Studies curriculum at GCSE level.
• ECTs are welcome to apply.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for Religious Studies.

Responsibilities

• Teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4 (potential KS5 depending on experience).
• Confidently deliver the GCSE RS curriculum and maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with the Religious Studies department and school leadership.
• Contribute to safeguarding and departmental development.
• Adapt lessons to support student progression and behaviour.

£175-£270 per day, depending on experience

• Are you an ECT or experienced Religious Studies Teacher who can confidently teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4?

Classroom Talent is working in partnership with a high-achieving secondary school in the Bishop's Stortford area, looking to appoint a Religious Studies Teacher to join them as soon as possible.

This is a full-time, long-term supply position starting ASAP until Christmas 2026, with the successful teacher then having the opportunity to move onto a fixed-term contract directly with the school from January 2027 until July 2027.

The successful Religious Studies Teacher will teach across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 teaching depending on experience. You will need strong subject knowledge and the ability to confidently deliver the school's Religious Studies curriculum at GCSE level.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an ambitious ECT or an experienced Religious Studies Teacher looking for an immediate role with the added security of a fixed-term contract through to the end of the academic year.
