Job summary

1st Homecare is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for our team in Tanton, North Yorkshire. In this role, you will help adults with learning disabilities to live independently, supporting them with daily tasks such as meal prep, personal care, and community engagement.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional sleepovers. We value a positive attitude and reliability over driving qualifications.

Hourly Pay: £12.71

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be working in a supported living house, helping people with learning disabilities and physical needs to build confidence, maintain independence, and develop new skills.

Day-to-day duties may include supporting individuals with:

  • Planning and preparing meals
  • Keeping their home clean, safe, and comfortable
  • Medication support (where required)
  • Personal care
  • Updating support plans and risk assessments
  • Accessing community activities, hobbies, and social events

You’ll be part of a committed, friendly team who work collaboratively to make each day meaningful for the people we support.

Shift Details

This is a 24‑hour service, so available shifts may include:

  • Days
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Sleepovers (as required by the service)

A driver is desirable, but not essential — what matters most is your positive attitude and reliability.

All offers are subject to an enhanced Adult DBS check.
