An established industry player is seeking compassionate Relief Support Workers to provide vital assistance to individuals in need. This role offers flexible hours, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in people's lives. You'll be responsible for supporting clients with daily activities, encouraging their independence, and providing emotional support. Ideal candidates will possess a warm heart and the ability to work under pressure. Join this rewarding team and help create positive change in your community while enjoying the flexibility to balance work with your personal life.
At CrossReach, our Relief Support Workers are everyday heroes, stepping in to support people when they need it most.
We're especially keen to hear from kind, reliable folk who can be available for evening and weekend shifts. Whether it’s helping someone cook a meal, sort their mail, or just have a friendly natter after a tough day, your support could mean the world.
This is flexible, meaningful work where no two days are quite the same. One shift might see you helping someone get ready for the day or supporting them with their weekly shop. The next, you might be encouraging them to develop life skills like cooking, budgeting, or even applying for work. You’ll be a key part of their journey towards greater independence, cheering them on through challenges and celebrating their wins – big or small.
You’ll often work solo, so you’ll need to be confident using your initiative and calm in those trickier moments. Sleepovers and emergency situations can sometimes be part of the role too, so you’ll be someone who can step up when needed and stay steady under pressure.
We’re ideally looking for someone with experience in care or support work, but if you bring the right attitude – caring, calm, and genuinely motivated to help others – we’ll make sure you’re fully trained and supported. It’s a real bonus if you already hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care; if not, we’ll help you work towards it. You’ll also need basic computer skills – just enough to write up notes and send the odd email.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a warm heart, a practical approach, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends – because that’s when we need you the most.
In return, you’ll get the flexibility to fit work around your life, proper training and support, and the satisfaction of knowing that your time and care have made a real difference to someone else’s day.
If that sounds like something you’d love to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.

This role requires membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and the necessary vetting checks. You will also need to be registered with SSSC and ensure you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
We have a legal obligation to verify that all prospective employees have the appropriate permission to work in the UK, granted by UK Visas and Immigration. We check the entitlement to work for all applicants, regardless of nationality or job category.
