Job summary

ISS UK Limited is seeking a reliable Security Relief Officer to join our team in Reading. This role provides cover for planned and ad hoc security requirements, including weekends and bank holidays, with guaranteed hours and varied shifts.

You will safeguard client sites, control access, respond to incidents, maintain records, and coordinate with emergency services as needed. A valid SIA license and security experience are essential; training and apprenticeship opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence is required.
• Proven security or related field experience.
• Good observational and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond to emergencies.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Flexible to work various shifts, including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the physical security of client premises.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action.
• Enforce access control and verify the identity of individuals on-site.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting and guiding visitors.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of security-related activities.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
• Ensure high standards and uphold the professional image of ISS.
• Undertake induction and training as needed.
• Promote a secure and safe working environment at client sites.
