Job summary

Securitas UK is seeking a Relief Security Officer to provide security services across a designated site area. You will protect people, property and assets while delivering excellent service and upholding our values of integrity, vigilance and helpfulness.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, a UK driving licence and the ability to obtain BPSS/SC clearance. You’ll work days, nights and weekends across shifts, with a focus on safety and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
• Previous corporate security experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conducting regular safety and security patrols.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches.
• Keeping vigilant, reporting incidents, and preventing disruption.
• Accurately maintaining records of all activity and handovers.
• Provide a visible security presence across the site.
• Conduct regular foot patrols
• Monitor CCTV systems and security alarms
• Manage access control and visitor sign-in procedures
• Respond to incidents and emergencies professionally
• Complete accurate incident and shift reports
• Assist employees, contractors, and visitors
• Ensure all health, safety, and security procedures are followed at all times.

As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide security services across a variety of sites within a designated geographical area as required. The Relief Security Officer will be responsible for protecting employees, property, and assets in line with Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements, while delivering exceptional customer service. The Relief Security Officer will consistently demonstrate Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness and must hold a valid SIA licence before commencing operational duties.
