Job summary

Securitas UK is seeking a Relief Security Officer to provide security services across multiple sites in Hertfordshire and Essex, including Basildon and surrounding areas. The role focuses on safety, integrity, and customer service while following site-specific instructions.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• British nationals eligible to meet security requirements.
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Physically fit for long periods of standing and walking.
• Able to multitask: CCTV monitoring, patrols, incident response, and report writing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Follow procedures and company policies.
• Honest, trustworthy and acts with integrity.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access and monitor alarms and CCTV.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as instructed.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and perform locking/unlocking duties as instructed.
• Maintain logbooks and records in line with Instructions.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes as required.
• Provide guidance and information to staff, visitors and contractors.

ARelief Security Officeris responsible for providing security services across multiple sites within a defined geographical area, ensuring the safety of people, property, and assets in line with site-specific requirements and assignment instructions. The role requires delivering a high standard of customer service while consistently demonstrating the organisation’s core values, including integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness

As aRelief Security Officer, you key responsibilities include preventing unauthorised access, monitoring security systems such as alarms and CCTV, and carrying out regular internal and external patrols. The role also involves managing site access, handling keys, completing equipment checks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all procedures are followed in line with company and client requirements.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications
