Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking security guards to join our teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The role covers numerous DWP sites across the region and may require travel between sites.

A full UK driving licence is required, and candidates should be able to drive or arrange own vehicle for short-term absences. Key duties include ensuring a safe environment for staff and visitors, patrolling sites, responding to emergencies, liaising with authorities,

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide high levels of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related matters.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.

Job Overview

Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites within the region (Must be able to cover Aylesbury, Reading, High Wycombe, Slough, Maidenhead, Didcot, Newbury, Aldershot, Guildford, Farnborough jobcentres etc. Ideally the officer should be able to drive and have his or her own vehicle to cover short term absences at all these jobcentres. So flexibility is very important)

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

What we are looking for.

• Previous Security Experience
• Licence required DS Licence Preferred
