Job summary

Mitie is seeking passionate security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This role covers DWP sites across the region, including Lowestoft and surrounding towns, and requires a Full UK driving licence.

You will patrol premises, respond to incidents, liaise with police and emergency services, complete incident reports, and uphold Mitie and DWP security policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum security experience required.
• A Full UK driving licence is required.
• DS Licence preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or Suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in security matters.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.

Job Overview

Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites within the region Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Diss, Norwich, North Walsham, Cromer

Full UK driving licence required.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

What we are looking for.

• Previous Security Experience
• Licence required DS Licence Preferred
