Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking security guards to support a new DWP project nationwide. The role covers multiple DWP sites in the region, including Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Coleford, Stroud and Yate, with flexibility to travel. A full UK driving licence is required to operate across sites.

You will patrol sites, respond to incidents, liaise with police and emergency services, and maintain detailed incident reports while upholding Mitie and DWP security policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience.
• Licence required DS Licence preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.
• Look out for and report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
• Remain alert to threats or changes to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
• Maintain professional conduct and complete detailed incident notebooks for reports.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
