Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is recruiting Relief Retail Security Officers for work with Tesco across the Preston area. The role offers full training, a competitive hourly rate and a flexible shift pattern across a range of sites.

You will cover holidays and sickness, with shifts typically 6am-3pm or 3pm-11pm/midnight, and a pay rate of £14.15 per hour. Successful candidates will operate as part of a trusted security team, building professional relationships with site colleagues and the public.

Qualifications

• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence required.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible for front-line licensable activity.
• Minimum 5 years of checkable work and address history.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and well-presented.

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleague safety and provide reassuring presence.
• Maintain proactive security presence and deter crime.
• Manage conflicts and incidents effectively.
• Control access and conduct security patrols.
• Engage with the public professionally and proactively.
• Monitor hazards and respond appropriately to incidents.
• Provide guidance and direct customers as first contact.
• Follow safety and security processes and work as part of a team.
