Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Swindon is seeking a security officer to safeguard client property, staff and visitors. You will patrol the site, maintain ASCONE awareness, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

The role requires a valid UK SIA Door Supervisor licence, retail experience, and a full UK driving licence with own vehicle as travel is around 30 miles. Flexibility to cover shifts from 08:00 to 22:00 Mon-Sat and 09:30-17:00 Sun is essential; contract is 6 hours weekly with relief coverage.

Job description

• Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site
• Conduct regular patrols of the site
• Deliver customer service to both staff and visitors.
• Support the staff with any reasonable request
• Ensure the relevant reports are completed in order for accurate information to be recorded

Training For this role, you will be required to fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Operations Manager. You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage, whilst using common sense and initiative to ensure the situation does not become threatening
• Being both proactive and reactive when delivering customer service to diffuse situations to avoid escalation
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers
• Complete an accurate and detailed entry of any incidents that occur on the system provided on site
• To call emergency services and Control Room to report all serious incidents Minimum one years Security experience

Various shifts times (between Monday - Saturday 08:00 and 22:00, Sunday 09:30-17:00) - must be flexible to work any day/ time Minimum 6-hour contract (permanent weekly shift Sunday 11:00-17:00 in Gloucester)

Provide exceptional customer service to both staff and visitors alike, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development, all whilst upholding both Mitie and our client's reputation. As this is a relief role covering both sickness and holiday absences, you must be flexible in terms of what days you work and able to pick up shifts at short notice.
