Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a relief Security Officer to safeguard our client’s property, people and assets.

You will patrol the site, provide frontline customer service to staff and visitors, and assist colleagues with reasonable requests, while ensuring accurate reporting and incident logging. The role requires knowledge of ASCONE, a valid UK driving licence with own vehicle, and a valid Door Supervisor SIA licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum one years Security experience.
• Retail experience is essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of ASCONE.
• Must have full UK driving licence and own vehicle as travel includes circa 30 miles radius each way, Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the site.
• Deliver customer service to staff and visitors.

• Ensure relevant reports are completed for accurate information.
• Look out for Health & Safety hazards and report them.
• Stay alert to threats and take action to reduce disruption.
• Diffuse situations with professionalism and maintain conduct.
• Complete entries of incidents on the system provided.
• Call emergency services and Control Room for serious incidents.

Job description

Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site

• Conduct regular patrols of the site
• Deliver customer service to both staff and visitors.
• Support the staff with any reasonable request
• Ensure the relevant reports are completed in order for accurate information to be recorded

Training

For this role, you will be required to fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Operations Manager. You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage, whilst using common sense and initiative to ensure the combination does not become threatening
• Being both proactive and reactive when delivering customer service to diffuse situations to avoid escalation
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers
• Complete an accurate and detailed entry of any incidents that occur on the system provided on site
• To call emergency services and Control Room to report all serious incidents

Minimum 6-hour contract (permanent weekly shift Sunday 11:00-17:00 in Gloucester)

Provide exceptional customer service to both staff and visitors alike, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development, all whilst upholding both Mitie and our client's reputation.

As this is a relief role covering both sickness and holiday absences, you must be flexible in terms of what days you work and able to pick up shifts at short notice.
