Job summary

Hokh is seeking an experienced Relief Retail Manager to cover Hospice shops and support retail projects across our estate. Based mainly from Hall Road, Aylesford, you’ll lead teams, manage day-to-day shop operations, and drive sales performance with a hands-on, adaptable approach.

With 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri) and a base salary of £26,567 per annum FTE (pro rata for hours), you’ll play a key role in protecting and growing vital income for local hospice care, while supporting visual

Qualifications

• Retail management experience with sales targets and team leadership.
• Experience analysing sales performance and taking action to improve results.
• Strong visual merchandising and store presentation skills.
• Experience handling cash and financial controls.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and provide management cover at short notice.
• Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle for business use.
• Willingness to travel across the hospice retail estate.
• Ability to lift and move stock, fixtures and furniture.

Responsibilities

• Provide management cover across Hospice shops, often at short notice.
• Lead, motivate and support colleagues and volunteers to deliver service and sales.
• Manage daily shop operations, cash handling, banking and admin.
• Monitor sales and take action to maximise income and targets.
• Maintain high standards of stock management, merchandising and presentation.
• Recruit and support volunteers and colleagues.
• Deliver retail projects including fittings, openings, relocations and refits.
• Maintain health, safety, security and compliance.
• Act as an ambassador for Heart of Kent Hospice in the community.
