Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting an Outreach Librarian Relief/Casual to deliver essential library services to rural and isolated communities through the Pop Up and Homelink service. You will organise and deliver direct customer service and clerical tasks across community venues and homes.

The role requires library experience, a passion for reading, and familiarity with national reading trends. A full clean driving licence is essential, and Welsh language ability is desirable; hours

Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a positive, enthusiastic and flexible person to undertake this rewarding post delivering essential library services to rural and isolated communities across Wrexham County Borough through the Pop Up and Homelink library service. The post holder will be required to organise and deliver direct customer service along with clerical and administrative work to community venues and individual homes across the county borough ensuring residents in isolated areas maintain access to reading materials and vital council resources. The post holder will have library experience, be an avid reader and will be familiar with national reading trends. The post does involve periods of lifting boxes of books and using trolleys. The minimum educational requirement is 5 GCSE passes Grade C or above (or equivalent). A full clean driving licence is essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

The successful candidate/s will need to be flexible; hours of work will be arranged on an as and when basis covering annual leave and sickness absence.
