Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a positive, flexible candidate to deliver essential library services to rural communities via the Pop Up and Homelink service. You will provide direct customer service and handle clerical tasks at community venues and homes across the county to ensure access to reading materials and council resources.

You will have library experience, enjoy reading, and be comfortable with Welsh language; a full driving licence is essential for visiting locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs passes at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience in library services and handling direct customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver library services to rural and isolated communities via Pop Up and Homelink library service.
  • Organise and deliver direct customer service along with clerical and administrative work to community venues and individual homes across the county borough.
  • Assist with lifting boxes of books and use of trolleys as part of daily duties.

Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a positive, enthusiastic and flexible person to undertake this rewarding post delivering essential library services to rural and isolated communities across Wrexham County Borough through the Pop Up and Homelink library service. The post holder will be required to organise and deliver direct customer service along with clerical and administrative work to community venues and individual homes across the county borough ensuring residents in isolated areas maintain access to reading materials and vital council resources. The post holder will have library experience, be an avid reader and will be familiar with national reading trends. The post does involve periods of lifting boxes of books and using trolleys. The minimum educational requirement is 5 GCSE passes Grade C or above (or equivalent). A full clean driving licence is essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
