Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Relief Security Officer to join our relief team at Milton Keynes. The role involves patrolling premises, monitoring CCTV and access points, responding to incidents, and maintaining security protocols to protect staff, visitors and assets.

The ideal candidate holds a current DS SIA Licence, has proven security experience, and can adapt to different client sites and varying shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Hold a current DS SIA Licence.
• Proven experience in a security role or similar.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome staff and visitors, creating a safe, professional atmosphere.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft or vandalism.
• Monitor access points, CCTV and handle security procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and security incidents, taking appropriate action.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents and security concerns.

About the Role:

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
