Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a Relief Mobile Caretaker to support our facilities team across the Derbyshire area, covering Derby, Ashbourne, Ripley, Denby and Belper. The role is zero hours with no guaranteed hours, and may involve working at different sites.

You will help keep sites safe, clean and well maintained, handle opening/locking, waste, porterage, basic repairs, light decorating, and general housekeeping, while prioritising health and safety and delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, trades, or general handyperson work.
• Delivers excellent customer service and communicates effectively.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
• Has a proactive and flexible approach to work.
• Understands the importance of health and safety.
• Can prioritise tasks and respond positively to changing demands.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking facilities, key holder responsibilities.
• Waste management and recycling duties.
• Porterage and site support tasks.
• General maintenance and minor repairs.

• Supporting the smooth day to day operation of school and commercial sites.
