Job summary

Vertas Group in Derbyshire is seeking a relief mobile caretaker to support Saint John Houghton School and other sites. The role involves locking up, waste handling, porterage, light decorating, cleaning and general site support.

This is a zero-hours, ad hoc position with no fixed pattern, requiring independent work, good communication and a commitment to health and safety; enhanced DBS and children's barred list checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, trades or general handyperson work.
• Enhanced DBS check required, with Children's Barred List check where applicable.
• Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking facilities with key holder responsibilities.
• Waste management and recycling duties across sites.
• Porterage and general site support tasks.
• Light decorating and minor repairs as needed.
• Cleaning and housekeeping to maintain high standards.
• Support day-to-day operation of school and commercial sites.
