Job summary

Barnsley Museums, part of Barnsley Council’s Culture & Visitor Economy Service, is seeking Relief Learning Assistants to support schools, families and community programmes across venues in Barnsley. The role is relief, with flexible hours and evening/weekend work possible.

You will work with children and young people, requiring a Level 1 qualification and strong communication skills. The post operates within an inclusive, supportive team with training opportunities and development pathways.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 1 qualification and proven experience in an educational environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Schools, Family Learning and Community programmes across Barnsley Museums’ venues.
• Work with schools, families and community groups to raise educational attainment and aspiration.
• Contribute to learning activities and events aligned to curriculum needs.
