Alongside is the new name for Julian House. We work with people experiencing social exclusion across the South and West of England, providing outreach, accommodation and support. Our clients may be sleeping rough, fleeing abuse, rebuilding after trauma, leaving prison, recovering from addiction, or trying to settle safely in a new community. Whatever their starting point, we work alongside people to help build safety, stability and independence.
If you’d like a real sense of job satisfaction, great career prospects and a competitive benefits package, you could be who we’re looking for!
Join us as a Relief Hostel Support Worker (Days) and become a vital part of our dedicated team at the Manvers Street Hostel—a service that operates 24/7, 365 days a year, supporting rough sleepers on their journey out of homelessness.
In this dynamic role, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment during the day shift. Your responsibilities will include carrying out regular health and safety checks through patrols, monitoring the premises via CCTV, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining accurate client records, helping us deliver the highest standard of support.
Every shift is an opportunity to make a real difference—providing reassurance, safety, and support to those who need it most. If you’re passionate about helping people and thrive in a role where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you!
Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the post holder may be required to undertake other duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.
