Job summary

Alongside is seeking a Relief Hostel Support Worker (Days) to join the Manvers Street Hostel in Bath. The role covers day shifts within a 24/7 service supporting rough sleepers on their journey out of homelessness.

You’ll carry out health and safety checks, monitor CCTV, and maintain accurate client records while delivering high-quality, person-centered support. Flexible hours 07:30–22:00; hourly rate £15.39 including holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Empathy and understanding of the needs of Alongside clients.
• Good communication skills to build relationships with clients and external agencies.
• As part of this role, you’ll need to complete practical first aid training. This will be included in your induction, and you’ll have two attempts to successfully complete and pass the assessment.

Responsibilities

• Give clients advice and information, providing an enabling service so they can access the appropriate services.
• Ensure all clients are provided with a high-quality person-centred service.
• Maintain client records so they are accurate and fully updated.
• Responsible for the day-to-day health and safety, and safe running of the hostel.
