Job summary

Alongside is seeking a Housing Night Concierge to provide a calm, secure on-site presence in our supported accommodation during night hours. You’ll help ensure safety and security for residents and buildings, working on a 4-on, 4-off rota with shifts from 4pm to 2am.

The role suits someone who can work solo, has strong attention to detail, and genuinely cares about building positive community relations. Training is provided for those new to overnight roles.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Overnight role experience preferred but not required; full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Be on-site presence ensuring safety and security of the accommodation during night/weekend shifts.
  • Conduct regular building checks and patrols to monitor safety and maintenance.
  • Monitor CCTV and respond to concerns in line with policies.
  • Keep clear, accurate log of events during each shift.
  • Provide smooth handovers between shifts verbally and in writing.

Job Role: Housing Night Concierge / Housing Security Worker (Nights)

Salary: £20,128 per year, hourly rate £14.70 per hour

Hours: 7.5 hours a day, on a 4 on 4 off rota, between the hours of 4pm – 2am (specific start/finish times to be agreed)

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Bath

Additional information
    • This role includes evening and night shifts as part of a 4‑on, 4‑off rota. The team are happy to discuss how this schedule will look in practice and can offer some flexibility for the successful candidate.

Please note, that the shifts and hours are waking nightshifts that require individuals to be aware and alert.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Housing Night Concierge to be the friendly and reassuring on-site presence across our supported accommodation services (owned or leased by Alongside). You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of both our buildings and the people within them, helping to create a calm, supportive environment overnight.

This role is perfect for someone who’s confident working solo, has great attention to detail, and genuinely cares about maintaining positive relationships within the community. Every shift is an opportunity to support vulnerable individuals and be part of something meaningful.

What you’ll be doing
    • Be a reassuring on-site presence, ensuring the safety and security of our supported accommodation through the night and weekends.
    • Conduct regular building checks and patrols to monitor safety, maintenance issues, and ensure a calm environment.
    • Monitor any CCTV and respond to any concerns or incidents in line with policies and procedures.
    • Keep a clear and accurate log of events and activities during each shift.
    • Support smooth transitions between shifts by providing details verbal and written handovers.
