Job summary

Honeycomb Group is seeking a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages in Stoke-on-Trent. You will prepare nutritious meals, maintain high hygiene standards and help minimise waste while ensuring a welcoming dining experience for residents.

This role requires a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to refresh) and demonstrable catering experience. A UK driving licence is required to travel between village sites.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or willing to refresh training.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar catering role.
• Passion for preparing great food and delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Understand food hygiene, health and safety requirements, including allergen management and special dietary needs.
• Organised, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
• Good communication and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
• Flexible and able to travel between sites with a valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of kitchens, restaurants and bistros.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste to deliver a cost-effective service.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide a welcoming dining experience for customers.
• Provide flexible cover across Independent Living Villages as required.
• Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Team Leader.
• Guide and support Catering Assistants in delivering a high-quality service.

We're looking for a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages, stepping in whenever our catering teams need an extra pair of hands. You'll help deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining excellent standards and creating positive dining experiences for the customers who call our villages home.

What You'll Do
