Job summary

The Relief Cook role at Honeycomb Group in Stoke-on-Trent offers flexible cover across Independent Living Villages. You will prepare nutritious meals, serve with warmth, and help maintain high standards in a cost-effective catering service.

You should hold Level 2 Food Hygiene (or higher), bring kitchen experience, and enjoy teamwork. You must be organised, adaptable, able to work under pressure, and willing to travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or above.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar catering role.
• Passionate about preparing great food and delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience working in a professional kitchen.
• Understand food hygiene, health and safety, including allergen management and dietary needs.
• Organised, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Flexible and able to travel between sites.
• Hold a valid UK Driving license to travel between sites.

• Support the smooth running of our kitchens, restaurants and bistros.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste to deliver a cost-effective service.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide a welcoming dining experience for customers.
• Provide flexible cover across our Independent Living Villages as and when required.
• Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Team Leader.
• Guide and support Catering Assistants in delivering a high-quality service.

We're looking for a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages, stepping in whenever our catering teams need an extra pair of hands. You'll help deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining excellent standards and creating positive dining experiences for the customers who call our villages home.

What you'll do:
