Job summary

Lacemaker Extra Care Establishment, Long Eaton, is recruiting a relief Care Worker (Community) to join the Southeast Care Service. The role covers 24/7 shifts across a three‑shift rota, with enhanced pay after 7pm and before 7am, and a focus on promoting the clients’ independence.

You do not need prior experience as full training and support will be provided. Responsibilities include personal care, dressing, meal prep, medication administration, health monitoring and assisting clients to access

Qualifications

  • No previous experience required; training and support provided.
  • Ability to work a three-shift rota including early mornings, afternoons and nights.
  • Must follow care plans, complete risk assessments and report incidents as required.

Responsibilities

Job description

An opportunity has arisen at Lacemaker Extra Care Establishment in Long Eaton, and we are seeking to recruit a relief Care Worker (Community) to join our team within the Southeast Care Service. The role involves delivering a range of tasks to Clients over 24-hour period 7 days a week, with the main aim of promoting and maintaining Client's independence. Candidates will be expected to work to the demands of the service and will be required to work on a three-shift rota system including early mornings, afternoons and waking nights. Enhanced rates of pay will be paid for working hours after 7pm at night and before 7am.

The post holder will be required to undertake day to day task which include, personal care, dressing, undressing, meal preparation, administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, supporting clients to access communal areas, and working alongside Health Care Professionals, Housing 21 team, families, and colleagues in addition to having the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to the team. There will be an expectation to answer and respond to unplanned emergencies and report to the DSO. You will always be required to follow the care support plan in addition to any completed risk assessments and demonstrate your ability to maintain health and safety for Clients and colleagues.

You don't need previous experience as we'll give you all training and support you need to complete the role.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
