Job summary

Derbyshire County Council seeks 2 Care Worker (Community) for Lacemaker Extra Care Establishment in Long Eaton to join the Southeast Care Service. The role covers delivering a range of tasks to clients over a 24-hour rota, promoting independence and supporting daily living.

You will provide personal care, meal preparation, assist with medications, monitor wellbeing, and work with Health Care Professionals and families. Full training is provided and flexible hours are available including weekends.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; full training and support provided.
  • Willingness to work a 3-shift rota including early mornings, afternoons and waking nights.
  • Ability to follow care support plans and health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care, dressing and undressing, meal preparation and medication administration.
  • Monitor health and wellbeing and support access to communal areas.
  • Work with Health Care Professionals, Housing 21 team, families and colleagues; respond to emergencies.
  • Follow care plans and complete risk assessments; uphold safety for clients and staff.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen at Lacemaker Extra Care Establishment in Long Eaton, and we are seeking to recruit 2 x Care Worker (Community) to join our team within the Southeast Care Service. The role involves delivering a range of tasks to Clients over 24-hour period 7 days a week, with the main aim of promoting and maintaining Client's independence. Candidates will be expected to work to the demands of the service and will be required to work on a three-shift rota system including early mornings, afternoons and waking nights. Enhanced rates of pay will be paid for working hours after 7pm at night and before 7am.

The post holder will be required to undertake day to day task which include, personal care, dressing, undressing, meal preparation, administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, supporting clients to access communal areas, and working alongside Health Care Professionals, Housing 21 team, families, and colleagues in addition to having the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to the team. There will be an expectation to answer and respond to unplanned emergencies and report to the DSO. You will always be required to follow the care support plan in addition to any completed risk assessments and demonstrate your ability to maintain health and safety for Clients and colleagues.

You don't need previous experience as we'll give you all training and support you need to complete the role.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
