Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Community Care Worker to support children and families in South Derbyshire & South Dales. You will work within a busy social work team under supervision to deliver direct work with children and to support plans for families.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

Derbyshire County Council have an exciting opportunity for a caring and determined Community Care Worker to join our team in South Derbyshire & South Dales. This role offers progression and development, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to use your skills and experience to genuinely improve outcomes for children and young people. The position is within a busy social work team with an experienced and committed group of colleagues, supported by a highly competent Practice Supervisor and experienced Team Manager. We are looking for motivated and dedicated applicants who can demonstrate a passion for working with vulnerable individuals within society and making a difference to children and families.

What skills and experience do you need?

• NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent, or willing to work towards once in post (refer to job and person profile for more information).
• Experience of creating rapport and building effective relationships with families.
• Knowledge of Child Protection, child development and parenting abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent assessment and IT skills.
• Ability to drive and own car would be advantageous.

Our Community Care Worker Role attracts a starting salary of £30,700 with annual increments to £32,737 pro rata.
