Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Relief Worker – Care Assistant to support residents with personal care and daily living activities at Protheroe House, Haringey. You will follow individual care plans, monitor residents’ wellbeing and work with the team to reduce distress and promote independence.

Training covers personal care tasks and safeguarding, with emphasis on dignity and respect. We value inclusivity and a commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a customer focused, residential environment, offering personal care to a diverse group of people.
• An awareness of housing and Health and Safety legislation and regulation National Care Standards Awareness
• Flexibility to work hours to meet customer and business needs, which may include working outside of normal office hours and lone working

Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) definitions including showering, shaving, toileting, continence management and personal hygiene (training provided).
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of care and medication support provided, as well as tasks undertaken.
• Respond to concerns and report to a manager with comprehensive records and ensure customer confidentiality.
• Work with customers to enable independence and participate in social activities, while following Riverside policies.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and communicate clearly with customers and their support networks.
