Job summary

Imperial Recruitment Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Canning) in Middlesbrough to lead maintenance on beverage processing lines. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative and reactive maintenance, and work with Production to maximise OEE. Experience in FMCG and canning is essential, with a strong lean and reliability mindset.

The role offers full-time permanent status, a dayshift pattern, and a salary up to £56,000 per annum. Flexibility may be needed to meet site needs.

Qualifications

Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
Experience in FMCG, food, beverage, or manufacturing environments.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience with automated production and packaging equipment.
Good understanding of Reliability Engineering and RCA.
Experience in a beverage or canning environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on canning, packaging, and bottling equipment.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
Minimise downtime through fault finding and Root Cause Analysis.
Support Reliability Programme with proactive maintenance and equipment improvements.
Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability and performance.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve safety, reliability and efficiency.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and engineering projects.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety requirements.
Collaborate with Production and Operations to maximise equipment performance and OEE.
