Reliability Engineer: Predictive Maintenance & Asset Uptime

Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Reliability Engineer for our Burscough site. You will drive asset reliability, availability and performance across the manufacturing lifecycle, using data and engineering insight to cut downtime and improve safety and quality.

You will develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, analyse performance data, lead root-cause analysis, and work with Engineering and Operations to deliver sustainable site improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or time-served engineer with manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Reliability, Maintenance or Engineering with preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Experience with FMEA/FMECA, RCA and criticality analysis.
• Strong analytical skills; experience using SAP or similar maintenance system.

Responsibilities

• Manage asset care across lifecycle; preventative, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
• Develop and improve maintenance strategies using OEMs, PM optimisation and condition monitoring.
• Analyse maintenance data to identify bad actors and improve availability and downtime.
• Lead RCA and implement sustainable solutions to eliminate recurring failures.
• Coordinate with Engineering Planner/Scheduler for planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
• Support CAPEX projects and maintenance best practices site-wide.
• Collaborate with Operations and other teams to align engineering work with production needs.
• Develop and report engineering KPIs to guide decision making.
