Job summary

Staffline in Nottingham is seeking a Maintenance Improvement Leader to own reliability and maintenance excellence in a large-scale manufacturing setting. The role focuses on eliminating recurring breakdowns and driving sustained engineering improvements without shifts.

This is ideal for an experienced maintenance or reliability professional who wants to lead data-driven improvements, coach teams, and influence site performance while ensuring safety and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
• Proven success reducing downtime and improving reliability.
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in FMCG, food, chemical or related highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to TPM, IWS, Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and coaching capabilities.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience, ideally apprentice trained or with HNC/HND/Degree.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate recurring equipment failures and downtime.
• Drive reliability improvements through structured root cause analysis.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies.
• Improve equipment performance, availability and operational efficiency.
• Support engineering projects lifecycle and new equipment implementation.
• Coach operators and technicians to improve equipment ownership.
• Ensure engineering activities remain safe, compliant and audit ready.
