Job summary

Omega in Nottingham is seeking a Maintenance Improvement Leader to own equipment reliability and maintenance excellence in a critical production area. This role focuses on eliminating recurring breakdowns, improving asset performance, and driving structured maintenance programs.

You will lead a team of technicians, apply TPM/Lean methods, and collaborate with engineering to deliver measurable improvements while working Monday to Friday days.

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience, leading a team of technicians and multi-skilled shift engineers around world class maintenance standards.
• Proven success reducing downtime and improving reliability.
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in FMCG, food, chemical or related highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to TPM, IWS, Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and coaching capabilities.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience, ideally apprentice trained or with HNC/HND/Degree.

Responsibilities

• Eliminating recurring equipment failures and downtime.
• Driving reliability improvements through structured root cause analysis.
• Developing preventive maintenance strategies.
• Improving equipment performance, availability and operational efficiency.
• Supporting engineering projects lifecycle, and new equipment implementation.
• Coaching operators and technicians to improve equipment ownership.
• Ensuring engineering activities remain safe, compliant and audit ready.
