Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Nottingham, East Midlands is seeking a Maintenance Improvement Leader to own equipment reliability and maintenance excellence within a high-volume production area. You will lead maintenance planning, drive downtime reductions, and apply TPM/Lean improvements across the site, coaching technicians to improve ownership and performance.

The role is Monday–Friday days with a £50,000–£55,000 base salary, a 10% bonus potential, outstanding pension, overtime opportunities, and

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
• Proven success reducing downtime and improving reliability.
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in FMCG, food, chemical or related highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to TPM, IWS, Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Eliminating recurring equipment failures and downtime.
• Driving reliability improvements through structured root cause analysis.
• Developing preventive maintenance strategies.
• Improving equipment performance, availability and operational efficiency.
• Supporting engineering projects lifecycle, and new equipment implementation.
• Coaching operators and technicians to improve equipment ownership.
• Ensuring engineering activities remain safe, compliant and audit ready.

Role Requirements & Experience: Maintenance Improvement Leader

• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience, leading a team of technicians and multi-skilled shift engineers around world class maintenance standards
• Proven success reducing downtime and improving reliability
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
• Experience in FMCG, food, chemical or related highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Exposure to TPM, IWS, Lean or continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong stakeholder management and coaching capabilities
• Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience, ideally apprentice trained or with HNC/HND/Degree
