Job summary

Eurostar header role for Head of Maintenance & Availability in the Rolling Stock department. You will drive reliability and performance of the fleet, mitigate capacity constraints and support depot modernization for a new train fleet, while ensuring fleet life-span objectives.

This permanent position is based at Temple Mills Depot in Leyton, with four days on-site. The close date is 5pm on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. Strong leadership and stakeholder skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
At least 10 years in a train depot in technical/leadership roles.
Proven leadership in depot operations.
Strong knowledge of maintenance regimes, capacity planning and operational delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance & availability activities to ensure safe, reliable train service.
Drive depot performance, fleet availability and reliability to meet plans.
Champion safety culture and compliance with standards.
Develop strategies to increase depot capacity and support fleet growth.
Manage budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation for cost-effective operations.
Build and develop high-performing teams and succession plans.
Foster relationships with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and external partners.
Lead continuous improvement and modernization programs across the depot.
