Job summary

Eurostar International Ltd. is seeking an Industrial Engineer in the Rolling Stock department. Based at the Temple Mills depot in Leyton, the role is permanent with hybrid working and a minimum of four days on site weekly.

You will lead VMIs, schedule maintenance, and drive reliability improvements across the fleet. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in rolling stock maintenance, strong rail systems knowledge, and experience with maintenance/asset management systems.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree-level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in rolling stock maintenance with hands-on knowledge.
• Proven experience developing or improving maintenance procedures/schedules.
• Strong understanding of maintenance optimisation and reliability improvement methodologies (RCM, 5S, Lean).
• Knowledge of railway safety regulations, risk assessment processes and ECM requirements.
• Experience with maintenance/asset management systems to manage technical docs and records.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Occupational Risk Assessor qualification or experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMIs).
• Manage fleet maintenance schedules, star charts and asset records.
• Drive maintenance optimisation initiatives to improve reliability and availability.
• Collaborate with engineering, depot operations, suppliers and international maintenance locations.
• Support tooling, equipment and maintenance method development and implementation.
• Lead improvement workshops using 5S, RCM and lean methods.
• Conduct maintenance risk assessments and implement mitigations.
• Provide engineering support through on-call rotation and change management activities.
