Job summary

Newmedica is seeking a Relationships Lead to join our clinic in Slough. This full-time role (40 hours per week) involves travel across NW London and Surrey to grow referrals and strengthen relationships with opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs and related partners.

You will be the main conduit between Joint Venture partners and the Newmedica marketing team, promoting services and patient choice, organising CPD sessions and events to boost visibility and referrals.

Overview of the role

We’re looking for a Relationships Lead to join our clinic in Slough. This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week and you will be expected to travel 4 days per week.

You will help us drive referrals in North West London and Surrey while maintaining relationships with existing referrers in the area.

You’ll be highly visible within the community surrounding the OJV location, building strong relationships with local Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs, and community groups. You will work to directly support the growth of referrals into the service, to deliver the referral numbers required in order to achieve business targets.

So what will I be doing?

Working across your designated geographical area, you’ll be responsible for delivering the referral volumes needed to meet the business targets for your Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV).

You’ll actively promote Newmedica services and patient choice, ensuring strong visibility within the local community. Your deep understanding of the referral landscape will enable you to build and maintain effective relationships with Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs, and other key stakeholders.

Acting as the main conduit between our Joint Venture Partners and the Newmedica marketing team, you’ll provide valuable insights into local activity and competitor presence.

Additionally, you’ll be involved in planning and organising events such as CPD sessions, optical fairs, and national seminars to further strengthen engagement and visibility.

What skills and experience do I need for the role?

You’llhaveexperience of working in a healthcare environment, ideally in optics or ophthalmology. Knowledge of NHS policy landscape and referral routes would be advantageous.

You’llbe a self-starter–a strong communicator who is ableto overcome challenges and influence people to your point of view.

Your friendly and engaging personality will mean that you are adept atestablishingeffective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.You’llbeused tobuilding positive and robust relationships with new clients as well as managing and maintaining relationshipswith existing clients.

You’ll be comfortable working with a high degree of travel around the OJV that you support. Whilst the core working time is typical office hours, flexibility will be required regarding travel and after-hours events.
