Newmedica in Oxfordshire is seeking a Receptionist to join our on-site team. You will welcome patients, check them in for clinics or theatre visits, and support a busy front desk with a friendly, professional manner.
You'll manage bookings, answer calls and emails, and handle post and enquiries across multiple systems. The role requires accuracy, empathy with patients, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Full training is provided.
Who are we? Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.
We care for thousands of NHS and private patients a year in our specialist eye clinics across the country. We have significant growth plans over the next few years as we look to establish a national footprint and open many new sites across the UK.
We are thrilled to say that following an independently conducted survey of Newmedica colleagues, we have been certified as a Great Place to Work®. This is a global benchmark that recognises employers who create an outstanding employee experience.
We are looking for a new Receptionist to join our Oxfordshire site. This is a role based on site and will be 32 hours across 4 days a week. The working days will be MTWF usually.
Our Receptionists are usually the first person our patients will see when they visit a clinic so a friendly, approachable and welcoming personality is a must!
The Receptionist will welcome all patients and check them in for their clinic or theatre visits. You will be working on the patient record system alongside other systems so should be comfortable using a variety of technology solutions.
You’ll also undertake a variety of administrative duties such as booking patients into their appointments, making and answering phone calls, sending and replying to emails, managing the post and sending letters and dealing with enquiries. As such you’ll require a high attention to detail and excellent accuracy levels. Our clinics are busy so we’re looking for someone who loves working in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.
The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with, so our team members need to be empathetic and able to put patients at ease.
Full training will be provided for this role
Our employment offers are subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for.
