Job summary

You will work closely with teachers and mentors to deliver individualised support, mentoring, and progress-based programmes, ensuring every learner feels valued and engaged in their education.

Qualifications

• Experience in Alternative Provision is essential.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• At least two professional references, including the most recent employer.
• Right to work in the UK and strong literacy/numeracy with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support in classrooms.
• Support SEMH and additional needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with learners.
• Help students regulate, re-engage and access education.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Collaborate with teachers, mentors and the wider support team.
• Support students' personal development as well as education.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive choices.
