Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking Regulatory Support Officers to join Regulatory Services, covering Environmental Health and Trading Standards functions. You will be the first point of contact for customers, delivering specialist support in a busy environment and assisting with field activities such as noise equipment handling and sampling.

The role requires strong communication, good MS Office skills, and excellent organisational abilities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and customer-focused service.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
• High level of organisation, accuracy and ability to prioritise workload.
• Experience in financial management to process orders and invoices.
• Knowledge of data protection and handling personal information.
• Regulatory Services knowledge is desirable but training will be provided.
• Holding a current driving licence for travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the initial point of contact for customers, fielding and dealing with enquiries and complaints.
• Provide specialist technical, operational and administrative support to the service in a busy environment.
• Undertake occasional field work, including noise equipment management, pool sampling, and diffusion tube distribution.
