Environmental Lawyer Position - London

The Directory-listed Environmental Law Department in London is seeking an Environmental Lawyer with 3 or more years of PQE. The team advises industrial, commercial, and public service clients on all aspects of Environmental Law, including:

1. Strategic and operational compliance advice
2. Regulatory enforcement advice and representation
3. Environmental issues in transactions and projects

The scope of work includes:

• Net zero, carbon, biodiversity, and natural capital advice, including nature-based solutions, offsetting, and EU/UK ETS compliance
• Environmental aspects of major infrastructure projects such as renewables, carbon capture & storage, water resources, and climate resilience
• Regulatory advice on remediation liability, nuclear regulation, water licensing, waste management, environmental permitting, and extended producer responsibility

The Environment Team is actively involved in the firm's Climate and Sustainability Advisory Practice, comprising specialists from various disciplines. As part of this integrated consulting and legal advisory business, the team helps clients understand sustainability requirements, comply with legal frameworks, and meet stakeholder expectations. The successful candidate will work alongside these multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to both Environmental law and broader climate and sustainability initiatives. The role requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to engaging with innovative areas of law and advisory services.
