Regulatory Analyst

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Regulatory Analyst to translate complex financial regulation into actionable rule logic within RegTech. You will own regulatory changes, work with Product, Engineering and Client Services, and research regulatory requirements with external information providers.

The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory, compliance, legal, technical, quantitative or business analyst roles.
• Experience interpreting complex requirements or regulation and turning them into clear, practical outputs.
• Good knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, bonds and derivatives.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of work.
• Ability to recognise when an issue needs additional input or escalation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working through ambiguity rather than relying on prescribed answers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Precise and logical approach with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to wider team operations.
• Permission to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyse financial regulation and translate complex requirements into domain-specific rule language.
• Own regulatory changes and rule updates through analysis, implementation, testing and release.
• Apply judgement to regulatory interpretation, identify ambiguities or risks, and upscale complex issues appropriately.
• Investigate client queries relating to regulatory interpretation and rule logic.
• Work with Client Services to provide clear, well-reasoned answers.
• Work directly with the legal information provider to research and clarify regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on service modifications and enhancements.
• Bring a regulatory perspective to product decisions.
• Review and test regulatory rules for accuracy.
• Identify and implement practical improvements to Regulatory team processes.
• Contribute to standards and best practices for regulatory analysis, coding, testing and documentation.
• Share knowledge and support less experienced team members.
• Develop deep expertise in a substantial regulatory or product area.
• Lead selected team initiatives.
• Review and constructively challenge colleagues’ analyses.
• Communicate client, product and cross-team impacts of regulatory changes.
• Give and seek feedback and share knowledge across the department.
