Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is recruiting for a Regulation & Compliance / Licensing Lead to own the regulatory and licensing activity for a new UK iDNO. You will drive the Ofgem license application, design a proportionate compliance model, and work with founders, regulators and assurance providers from day one.

This is a founding team role with travel as required, offering flexible UK working and the chance to shape how a major energy group operates in a new market.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of UK electricity network regulation.
• Experience of Ofgem licensing, regulated submissions or industry-code qualification.
• Strong governance, risk, compliance and assurance capability.
• Ability to translate complex obligations into clear operational controls.
• Credibility with regulators, industry bodies and senior leaders.
• Hands-on regulatory specialist, comfortable leading an application while building the compliance model for a live business.

Responsibilities

Regulation & Compliance / Licensing Lead, New Independent Distribution Network Operator

UK flexible | Permanent | Founding team | Travel as required

About our client

I'm recruiting for a major UK energy group that is new to the iDNO market and is launching its first Independent Distribution Network Operator (iDNO) business, built from scratch. You'd join the founding team, with the backing of an established group and the pace of a start-up.

The opportunity

As Regulation & Compliance / Licensing Lead, you'll own the regulatory and licensing activity needed to obtain and maintain an electricity distribution license for this new entrant. You'll lead the licence application while designing a proportionate, sustainable compliance model for the live business, ensuring it has clear obligations, controls and regulatory evidence from day one. You'll work closely with the founding leadership team, regulators, code bodies and assurance providers.
