Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a Financial Regulatory Technology Director to lead the strategic direction and delivery of technology for Financial Risk and Regulatory Reporting across EMEA. You will oversee run-the-bank and change-the-bank portfolios, ensuring regulatory obligations and control objectives are met with resilient technology solutions.

The role offers a competitive salary (£108,000–£162,000) and a discretionary incentive, plus a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in technology delivery within banking or financial services.
• Demonstrable governance and regulatory reporting leadership across risk, finance and IT.
• Experience delivering major regulatory platforms and transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Own and articulate the EMEA Financial Regulatory Technology strategy and roadmap.
• Shape target-state architecture, platform roadmap and investment priorities.
• Lead senior governance forums and provide evidence-based recommendations to executives.
• Ensure regulatory obligations, audit commitments and business priorities are translated into technology outcomes.
• Deliver across third parties and regional/global teams with strong governance.
• Drive transformation, resilience, and control improvements across platforms.
