Walton Lodge Veterinary Group is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a maternity cover basis at our Ware practice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established, growing veterinary group that is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, with flexibility in the shift pattern to accommodate a work-life balance. You will also join the Saturday rota, working 1 in 9 Saturdays from 9am to 2pm at our Ware hospital. There are no out-of-hours commitments, ensuring a structured and manageable schedule.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Walton Lodge, you will play a key role in supporting our Veterinary Surgeons, Student Veterinary Nurses, and Reception team in providing exceptional care. Your responsibilities will include inpatient care, surgical assistance, nurse consultations, and diagnostics using our state-of-the-art equipment. The People Behind Walton Lodge
Walton Lodge Veterinary Group was co-founded in September 2000 by Helen Lee BVSc, MRCVS, and her partner Rodney Pugh. Since then, we have expanded to six surgeries across Bengeo, Bishop's Stortford, Harlow, Hoddesdon, Stevenage, and Ware. We have recently opened three brand-new practices in Stevenage and Hoddesdon, and our Ware practice has been fully refitted and extended, offering a modern, well-equipped working environment with excellent transport links.
We take pride in investing in cutting-edge technology, including digital radiography, high-speed colour Doppler ultrasound scanners, digital endoscopy, high-powered dental scalers and polishers, and advanced anaesthetic monitoring equipment. These facilities allow our team to provide the highest standards of veterinary care across all locations.
You will be joining a highly skilled and dedicated team, including 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, and 11 Receptionists. Our team works collaboratively, supporting each other to ensure the best outcomes for our patients and clients. Helen Lee, our senior Veterinary Surgeon, qualified from Bristol University in 1984 and has been serving the Hertfordshire community since 1985. Her wealth of experience, along with the expertise of our wider team, ensures a fantastic learning environment for all staff.
