Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS/BCLS certification within specified time frame.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care within assigned unit.
• Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
• Adheres to hospital policies, ANA Standards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics.
• Ensures safe, timely, and accurate medication administration, IV administration, and transcription.
• Maintains documentation that is accurate, timely, concise, legible, and compliant with departmental policies.
• Integrates organizational policies and national practice guidelines into patient care planning to achieve desired outcomes.
• Precepts new employees and supports the learning needs of colleagues.
• Assigns personnel effectively and monitors staff utilization during shifts.
• Performs comprehensive physical assessments and takes patient histories on admission.
• Prioritizes patient care problems and makes sound clinical decisions.
