Job description

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in a month at 23:59 BST.

The Vacancy

Are you a highly motivated Registered Nurse or ODP with the drive, ambition, and commitment to deliver the highest standards of patient care?

Sulis Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Somerset, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or ODP to join our Endoscopy Team.

You will provide excellent nursing care, actively participate in and contribute to the management of the Endoscopy Unit, maintain endoscopes and specialised equipment used in procedures, and provide technical assistance during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, monitor, and maintain high standards of nursing care following company policies and procedures.
• Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe practices.
• Maintain a friendly environment, engaging with patients and relatives with sensitivity to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy.
• Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
• Store, check, and administer drugs according to standards and guidelines.
• Work with minimal supervision during procedures, admission, and recovery.
• Contribute to the resolution, investigation, and follow-up of complaints.
• Participate in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment, ensuring proper decontamination and traceability.
• Ensure the safe discharge of patients from the Endoscopy unit.
• Maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.
• Triage and pre-assess patients to ensure suitability for procedures.

Working Hours

Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week. Shift patterns vary from 08:00-16:00, 10:00-18:00, to 08:00-18:00.

If you hold NMC or HCPC registration, have demonstrated CPD, and possess current experience in an Endoscopy department, we would like to hear from you.
