As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing programmes of care, as well as implementing and evaluating these programmes to ensure high-quality patient care.
The post holder is expected to perform all relevant care activities independently. They may also demonstrate procedures and supervise registered and unregistered staff, including student nurses.
Duties may vary depending on the ward/department and patient dependency levels.
Additional responsibilities after 2 years post-registration:
The post holder will oversee and coordinate the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practices in patient care. In the absence of senior staff, the post holder will provide cover to ensure effective ward/department operation.
