Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new children’s home in Oldbury. You will ensure safe, high‑quality care for looked after children, build a trauma‑informed, supportive culture and drive continuous improvement.

Reporting to the provider, you will lead a skilled residential childcare team, oversee safeguarding, care planning and Ofsted readiness, and work with families, social workers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior residential childcare management.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Understanding of Quality Standards for children's homes.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a motivated residential childcare team.
• Ensure the home meets Ofsted and regulatory requirements.
• Promote safeguarding culture and child protection.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and placement planning.
• Build relationships with families, social workers and professionals.
• Manage recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development.
• Ensure staffing, rotas and operational arrangements are effective.
• Monitor incidents, safeguarding concerns and progress of children.
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement.
