Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee a children's residential home in Wolverhampton. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality child-centred care, and leading the residential childcare team with a focus on safeguarding and Ofsted compliance.

The role requires a proven track record as a Registered Manager in children's residential care, with Level 5 Leadership and Management for Children and Young People and strong knowledge

Qualifications

  • Be a qualified Registered Manager for children’s residential care.
  • Have previously held a Registered Manager position in a children’s residential home.
  • Have demonstrable experience successfully managing a children’s residential service.
  • Have experience working with children and young people with learning difficulties and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
  • Hold the relevant Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People.
  • Have strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding and children’s residential care legislation.
  • Have proven experience leading, managing and developing a residential childcare team.
  • Be confident dealing with challenging situations and complex behaviours.
  • Be committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

  • Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision, training and performance.
  • Ensure children’s individual needs are understood and appropriately supported.
  • Promote positive behaviour and use appropriate approaches when supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Monitor the quality of care and continually identify areas for improvement.
  • Take responsibility for preparing the home for Ofsted inspections and responding appropriately to any recommendations.
  • Maintain a positive culture where children feel safe, valued, respected and listened to.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Registered Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the management of a children's residential home in the Wolverhampton area.


This role is specifically for someone who has already worked as a Registered Manager within children's residential care and has a proven track record of managing a home successfully.


This is not a position for someone looking to gain their first Registered Manager role.


The home supports children and young people with learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and potentially complex needs.


We are looking for a confident, compassionate and experienced leader who understands the challenges and rewards of this type of care.


Key Responsibilities
